Interesting facts about the language
Dänisch ist genauso wie Deutsch eine germanische Sprache und gehört der Gruppe der skandinavischen (nordgermanischen) Sprachen an. Dänisch ist die alleinige Landessprache von Dänemark. Dänisch wird von etwa 5 Millionen Muttersprachlern gesprochen. Auf Grönland und die Färöer wird ebenfalls Dänische gesprochen, da sie zu Dänemark gehören. Das dänische Alphabet besteht aus 26 Buchstaben des lateinischen Alphabets. Die Buchstaben C, Q, W, X und Z kommen nur in Fremdwörter vor. Zu dem gibt es noch drei Sonderzeichen. Diese drei Sonderbuchstaben stehen am Ende des Alphabets: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z, Æ, Ø, Å (Aa).

Denmark is a country in Northern Europe with a parliamentary monarchy. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark. Denmark includes the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The mainland and the Faroe Islands are geographically part of Europe, while Greenland is geographically part of North America. The Kingdom of Denmark, as it is officially called, is therefore an intercontinental state. Germany borders Denmark to the north. The mainland has a population of approximately 5.7 million, the associated Greenland has a population of approximately 56,584,000, and the Faroe Islands have a population of approximately 48,354,000.
